FOCUSED INTERRUPTION is Madison's only non-profit focused on implementing solutions to end gun violence. With your help we can interrupt this deadly cycle. We serve the people, families, and neighborhoods most impacted by community gun violence. We build trust and facilitate the healing process that creates peace.

OUR IMPACT

Since 2016, Focused Interruption has helped over 500 victims of gun violence in the Madison area by providing support, guidance, and assistance to the victims and their families. By refocusing these individuals, we empower them to see their value in our community.

With our City of Madison experiencing an 88% increase in shootings over this past year, Focused Interruption's mission to end gun violence is more vital than ever. We have proven solutions for creating safer communities and are committed to making this a reality for Madison.

RACIAL DISPARITIES
IN GUN VIOLENCE

More than  HALF  of Madison’s gun crime victims are  BLACK

While making up 7% of Madison's population, Black people were 55% of the victims from gun assaults resulting in injury or death over the last five years. Black Madisonians are 19 times more likely than a White Madisonian to become a victim of firearms.
